What happens during and after your sample collection?

Where exactly is the blood sample taken?
A simple blood sample is drawn from the inner side of the elbow by a trained nurse — the same area used for any routine blood test.
How long does the collection take?
The visit is short — usually 10 to 15 minutes from arrival to finish, including identity check, quick preparation, and drawing one small tube per person.
Is it painful, and do I need to fast?
No fasting is required and no special preparation is needed. Most people feel only a brief pinch, similar to a standard blood test.
What happens to the sample after collection?
The sample is labeled, sealed, and transported under controlled conditions to our accredited lab. DNA is extracted and sequenced using Whole Exome Sequencing, then reviewed by our genetic team.
When will I get the results?
Results are typically ready within 45 to 50 business days. You'll receive a joint report and a private counseling session with a specialist to explain everything clearly.
Why does the test take this long?
Because it's a full genetic test, done once in a lifetime. Your sample goes through several verification stages, we screen tens of thousands of genes, and your file is reviewed and signed off by three licensed physicians who confirm the results are accurate and medically sound. Only after that we prepare your compatibility package and deliver your report with a full explanation — so the time you wait is time spent making sure everything about you is right.
If we're compatible, do I need to test again — and pay again — with a future partner?
No — the test itself is done just once in your life. If your situation changes later, we can run a new compatibility comparison against a new partner from your existing file. With NAWA's warranty, you can request unlimited re-compatibility checks free of charge — just reach out to us anytime.
Is my sample kept afterwards?
Your sample and data are handled confidentially under our privacy policy. Samples are not reused for other purposes without your explicit consent.
